Are there any valuable baseball cards from the early 1990s?

I found a box of over 1,000 baseball cards, all from 1991-1993. I can’t find any trading card shop willing to sort through them all, so I want to do it myself – donate the worthless ones and sell any that might be worth a little bit.

This was the era when the card companies were just beginning to figure out that is was not a good idea to print 3 million sets. Production was lower than previous years, but still pretty high.

There were several rookies in regular sets from that era that are worth a few dollars. 1991 – Luis Gonzalez, Mike Mussina. 1992 – Jeff Bagwell, Trevor Hoffman, Carlos Delgado, Garret Anderson, Mariano Rivera, Mike Piazza, Manny Ramirez, Cliff Floyd, Shawn Green. 1993- Andy Pettitte, Jason Kendall, Preston Wilson, and, of course, Derek Jeter.

The Traded/Update sets would have had most of these players a year earlier.

If you bought these cards in the usual retail outlets, you probably have Topps, Upper Deck, Donruss, Fleer or Score. Most of these rookies top out at about $2 in the mainstream sets. Bowman rookies are significantly higher.

As far as veterans, there weren’t that many that were worth a lot in that era. Most of them, Bonds, Ripken, Ryan, etc. top out around $1 – $2.

Inserts and smaller production sets have some higher value as well, but you are looking at short printed Jeter or Ramirez rookies before you get into the big bucks.

Overall, not the best era, but there could be a few good finds in there.

Shy girls, I have a question. What can I do here?

There’s this girl who’s been going to our church for the last year or so. She’ll sing a solo during the service every now and she has an amazing voice. She’s very pretty and she seems like a really nice person. However, she is very shy. I’m not sure how I can talk to her. I always compliment her whenever she sings.
She comes with her mom and her younger brother, so I always go over and say hi to them after the service ends. I’m the sound technician, so I rarely get to sit next to her, but I always say hi and ask her how her week went, or how classes are going. She went to a baseball game with our youth group a few weeks ago, but I wasn’t sure what to talk about.

You just need to talk to her more and more and show some interest.
If she likes you and thinks you might be into her, she’ll open up and become more confident around you.
You can’t intimidate her though, try to be as nice as you can!
And as for talking, just ask her what her interests are.
After a few more weeks of talking, ask her out somewhere.
