Baseball Fans: How many of you will Watch Alex Rodriguez New Conference Tomorrow?

Its at 1et , time and for me it means 10am .

I’m not going to watch it, to be honest. It doesn’t mean I have a problem with A-Rod – in fact, I’m fine with what he’s done, it doesn’t upset me. The reason I won’t watch the press conference is simple, it’s nothing but Trainwreck TV. The press is going to be absolutely ludicrous as usual, because they’re trying to backpedal after anointing A-Rod “the clean one” and “the savior.” It’s now a contest to see who can get the most negative on the guy the quickest, and it has very little to what he’s actually done – it has to do with the ridiculous nature of the sports media, continually building up athletes with absurd levels of praise and glory, only to tear them down as soon as they slip even a little bit.

EQ – It would be really hypocritical and petty of Pettitte to not want to support A-Rod considering his own past issues with PEDs, so I doubt he has a big problem with it. I honestly think Jeter wants to be there in support – though I won’t deny that a huge reason for his motivation is that he’s the captain and he’s supposed to hold the team together. I don’t think Rivera would have that much of a problem, neither Posada. Yeah, I think they all want to be there to support A-Rod regardless of their feelings for him – as team leaders, they want to show the rest of the team, and the world, how the organization will support their stars even through blowups like this. I’m not going to go as far as to say they all love or even like the guy, but they understand the importance of supporting him through this as well.

I don’t know, but the team had better do something. The quality of the team they’ve been putting on the field is horrendous…now I know they’re all superstars, but where’s the heart and desire?
